Suzhou Korean School Launches Historic Taekwondo Demonstration Team

In April, Suzhou Korean School in Jiangsu Province made history by launching the first-ever Taekwondo demonstration team among Korean schools in China. The inauguration ceremony, held on April 10, drew over 600 attendees, including Principal Kim Jung-ho, the school board, the Suzhou Korean Association, etc.

The team, made up of students from elementary to middle school, showcased their skills in an exciting performance that symbolized cultural exchange between Korea and China. This launch marks a proud milestone for bot the Suzhou Korean School and the Korean community in China.

However, the event coincided with midterm exams, which limited student participation and focus. Improved timing and clearer communication could help future events resonate more deeply with the school community. -G11 Cho Eunsan

Sports Day

On April 29th, Suzhou Korean School held its annual Sports Day with all students participating in exciting competitions. Divided into Blue and White teams, students showed great energy and teamwork under the warm spring sun.

This year’s Sports Day featured a wide range of events, including basketball, soccer, dodgeball, tee-ball, penalty shootout, three-legged race, relay race, volleyball, tug-of-war, and mission relay. Each event drew loud cheers and enthusiastic participation from students across all grades.

After a series of close games, the Blue Team won. The thrilling turnarounds of the final relay and tug-of-war were especially exciting and highlighted the students' unity.

This Sports Day was a celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit. We look forward to more opportunities to bring our school community together in such meaningful ways, through events like the English Debate Competition, the Sports Exchange Match, and the Miso Festival. - G11 Jeon Seong-min
